At a young age I always had an interest in art. From school art classes to crafts at home, art was most certainly my specialty. As I grew up I found a particular fascination with making beaded bracelets, which I fondly referred to as "Bonnie's Beaded Bracelets" (try saying that three times fast). I mostly made them for my own pleasure but on occasion would sell them to close family and friends. Aside from having created enough bracelets for a small army, I had also determined that I would be going to school to study jewelry.
I went to Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA and majored in Metals and Jewelry. It was here that I not only fell in love with jewelry all over again, but I also realized how it was designing a product that was my real passion. Through a few but very special sponsored classes with The McGee Group, The Limited, and Fossil I discovered that designing jewelry for a specific customer could open many doors towards the start of a career as a jewelry designer. And so I have begun my career doing just that! Today, I am a Jewelry Designer for The Jewelry Group in New York City. My focus everyday is designing jewelry for Givenchy and love what I do!
